September Excursion- Fountain Hills

Glen and I have lived in Arizona our whole life and feel like we don't know enough about it and haven't seen or have forgotten a lot of places. So last September we decided that we were going to go to one new place or do one new thing every month. And of course, so far, we have always waited until the very last days of the month, and the past couple of months we have missed. So on September 30 we went to Fountain Hills off of highway 87 on your way to Payson. Now for some Arizonans that may sound kind of funny but we had only been there before for track or a football game. We had never been to the Fountain Park. I read on the internet that "Fountain Hills boasts the largest continuously flowing fountain in the world, which spurts water 560 feet into the air every hour on the hour. The fountain is located in the middle of a man-made lake." Whether or not it really is the largest, it is still extremely high and awesome to go see. I believe we got to see it three times: as soon as we got there, while on our walk around the lake, and right before we left. If we didn’t have our kids it could be a really romantic place to go in the evenings and take a nice walk around the lake, but it was fun to have the kids. We had a picnic, fed the ducks, watched the fountain, walked around the lake, and played on their fun playground. It was a great Monday night FHE for us.The fountain reaches 560 feet.We couldn't believe how close the ducks got to us.

Kade loves to climb! They had a nice little Veterans Memorial. Glen's trying to teach Kade.

This is a bad picture, but they light it up at night.
